From 7th to 14th of October, Association PEL team was participating at the European Youth Labor Mobility Week (#EYLMW) which was a training course organized by the association TDM2000 Polska in Wroclaw, Poland.
The training course was a project for youth workers and youth leaders with a goal to give the young people from different countries a chance to learn how to promote labour mobility, how to help young people to find information and use tools provided by European Commission such as EURES, Erasmus Plus, guaranteed rights and limitations of labour, what support young people working in other member state can get, etc.
Besides Association for Progress, Education and Lobbying which was partner organization from Macedonia, there were also organisations and participants from: Malta, United Kingdom, Lithuania, Italy, Croatia, Romania, Netherlands and the host country Poland.
During the 7 days stay in a nice and cozy hostel in the center of Wroclaw, we had a lot of non-formal educational activities, workshops, simulations, discussions and debates concerning labour mobility with a special focus on the youth mobility.
All of the activities were on-topic, interactive, fun and required team work. We had presentation of countries realities, treasure hunt, creating ‘toolbox’ for future youth work on labour mobility, role play debate, creating campaigns and plans for raising awareness about labour mobility, ideas about sustainable businesses and presentation of our organisations.
We also had a special guest from Poland who was talking about employability situation in the country, the region and Europe in general, but also talked about entrepreneurship and the mobility measures available to youth. We have also watched movies related to labor mobility and the benefits it provides.
At the last day of the training course, we had Erasmus Plus presentation, the programme that financed the project, and about all of its possibilities and opportunities it gives to basically everyone. We also had opportunity to develop and share project ideas that can be organized in the future within the programme.
All in all, it was a great project in which we learned a lot about labor mobility and it’s benefits and it definitely helped us develop better ideas and projects for the future. And last, but not least, we also made a lot of friends with which we shared contacts and we plan to keep in touch until we meet somewhere again!
